Patrick Kearney was an American serial killer active in California during the 1960s and 1970s. Known as “The Trash Bag Killer,” he murdered young men and boys, often dismembering the bodies and disposing of them along highways.

Patrick Kearney was also sometimes called the “Freeway Killer,” a nickname shared with two other serial killers, Randy Kraft and William Bonin. Although Kearney was charged with 21 murders, in 1977  he confessed to a total of 28 killings and is suspected of having murdered up to 43 young men and boys.
